March Madness

Hello all...

Spring has come and with it blogs. It is all the rage with the kids these days so we both thought it would be a great time to jump on the bandwagon. We both think it will be easier to communicate to everyone in our network this way. This doesn't mean we won't call people, but it does mean that with three in the house, phone calls might become less frequent and shorter in actual conversation time. Check here to get updates or, if for nothing else, see Melissa's belly and how big it has become (a picture will come soon).

March is coming to a close and if George Mason beating UConn wasn't enough madness for this month, the 9 weeks left until baby time. Melissa continues to grow bigger and bigger and Karl is beginning to show a sympathy bump (OK, not really) :-).

Working For Da Benjamins -

Karl's job is going well. He is almost in his 3rd year at CB Richard Ellis and still enjoying the work he is doing. Most of his time is spent filling cubes with packing peanuts and losing Ping Pong tournaments.

Melissa's job is also going well. This year she is teaching Social Studies to 7th and 8th graders, hosting Drama club on Friday's, all the while balancing her ever changing physique. The students have really taken to her burgeoning belly and love to touch it (the kids, unlike strangers, do have access to the belly). She plans to keep working as long as she can.

Belly pic... this is right before the holiday party at the Willard Hotel in down town DC for Karl's work.... early December, about 4 months.

Baby News -

The second sonogram showed some great pictures of a healthy baby girl growing, and coming May/June we'll finally meet her. Appointments have now reached every other week where Melissa gets to go, pee in a cup and see how much weight she has gained (great times!). The appointments are going well, the heartbeat still sounds good and she is kicking up a storm. Karl - the real trooper - has not missed an appointment yet! We start baby prep classes at the end of April... to epidural or not to epidural, that is the question...

On April 9th a friend has graciously offered to throw Melissa and Karl a baby shower. We are registered at Babies R' Us.

On the home front -

With the expanding family, the beautiful one bedroom in old town has to go. It will most likely be replaced with a larger townhome to rent in Maryland. Enough room for mom, baby and daddy.

A picture of the small, but beautful place we have to sell :-(...

Study Break -

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Melissa is warranted since she will officially have her Masters in Teaching from American University as of May 14, 2006. She will continue on to get a second licensure, however, she will have her MA by the time the baby comes.

Karl is over half-way done with his MBA and hopes to finish in Spring 2007. Luckily the "fun" courses such as Statistics, Finance and Economics are over with so that he can focus his time on more serious academic rigor such as Marketing.

Thanks to all of our friends and family... we love you and miss you...

Congratulations to you both! I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the shower - all the more reason for you to post photos, I want to see Melissa's big bump! ALSO, just wanted to add that I KNEW it would be a girl! I know that Karl's side of the fam has those strong triplet genes but the Hill side has those strong first-born-girl genes ;)

Love you both!

Doomed to be henpecked by hormones....I could say he deserves....no, I won't....love you both. Now, go study. Those degrees won't get themselves achieved. (Oh, I am so a mom!)
