We drove 14 hours... for this :)

Actually it was probably closer to 17 hours but it was worth it.  This year we decided to drive down to Florida for our Winter Break.  We had the great fortune to be able to host the Kaplan-Swaminatha's and we had a blast.

We hung out at the beach, played putt-putt, ate chili dogs (not Melissa), swam in the ocean (again, NOT Melissa), ate at Village Inn and visited family.  A great trip and 2,000 miles later we were happy but exhausted.

X-Mas 2013

We spent Christmas at home this year and had a great time hanging out with family and just relaxing. the girls got everything they asked Santa for .... and some other stuff.  We started the xmas season with a tradition on Karl's side for xmas eve....a meal of bread, cheese and sausage.  The girls handled it well.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We were very fortunate to have guests this Thanksgiving.  Chris, Stacey and Caiden came for a visit and we had a great time.  We always do.  After a day or two inside because of the cold weather we did what everyone does during the Thanksgiving break...go bowling.

The Girls Perform!

Over the course of any school year the girls have an opportunity to perform a number of times.  We've pulled two from this first half of the school year that we thought you would enjoy!

A moment in the mountains...

As is tradition (this is year 2) we headed up to Luray this past November with the Haverts and the Swaminatha-Kaplans and spent the weekend hanging out and enjoying the outdoors.  Karl even ran over his first possum which he feels bad about.  The bright side is that now the girls have a second pet to run around with.  Although Stuffy doesn't move and has started to smell he makes up for it in his durability.  Those Virginia taxidermists really know what they're doing.
